AI Concorde Air France/Brititsh Airways and AI Traffic File

If you are a fan of the iconic Concorde supersonic jet, you might be interested in adding some AI traffic of Air France and British Airways Concordes to your flight simulator. In this blog post, I will show you how to do that using an AI traffic file and some freeware models.

AI traffic file is a file that contains information about the flight plans, schedules, and aircraft types of various airlines. It can be used to enhance the realism and diversity of your simulator environment by adding more AI traffic that follows realistic routes and timetables.

To add AI Concorde traffic, you will need two things: an AI traffic file that includes Concorde flights, and some Concorde models that are compatible with your simulator. There are several sources for both of these components, but I will recommend some that I have personally tested and found to work well.

For the AI traffic file, I suggest using the one created by World of AI (WOAI), which is a group of enthusiasts who create realistic AI traffic packages for various simulators. You can download their Concorde package from their website: https://www.world-of-ai.com/packages.php. This package contains flight plans for Air France and British Airways Concordes from 2003, which was the last year of their operation. The package also includes some repaints of the Concorde models by Project AI (PAI), which are low-polygon models that are suitable for AI traffic.

For the Concorde models, I recommend using the ones created by Libardo Guzman (LGG), which are high-quality models that feature animated parts, custom sounds, and realistic flight dynamics. You can download his Air France and British Airways Concordes from his website: https://lggconcorde.weebly.com/. These models are designed for manual flying, but they can also be used as AI traffic with some modifications.

To use LGG's models as AI traffic, you will need to edit some files in the aircraft folder. First, you will need to rename the aircraft.cfg file to something else, such as aircraft_manual.cfg. This is because WOAI's package already includes an aircraft.cfg file that is configured for AI traffic. Second, you will need to edit the sound.cfg file and change the sound alias to point to the PAI Concorde sound folder. This is because WOAI's package already includes a sound folder that is compatible with AI traffic. For example, if you are using LGG's Air France Concorde, you will need to change the sound alias from:

sound_alias=Concorde

to:

sound_alias=PAI_Concorde

You will need to do this for both Air France and British Airways Concordes. After these modifications, you can copy and paste LGG's models into the WOAI Concorde folder, replacing the PAI models. You will also need to copy and paste LGG's panel folder into the WOAI Concorde folder.
